Coal News Ranked Number Three


A major coal publication has ranked Coal News number three beating out other coal publications such as Coal People, World Coal, and Coal Leader. The question asked was, "If you could receive only one, which would it be?"

"When we founded Coal News in 2004, we said that we intended Coal News to become coal's foremost publication," said Bill Reid, Publisher and Managing Editor. "For a publication that's only been going for four years, we are delighted to be ranked number three and we are well on our way to achieve our original goal."

The survey was performed by Fortec Research in March 2008 for Coal Age, which was ranked one. Coal Age was established in October 1911. Coal News was introduced to the coal industry in July 2004.
